Yay for nice weather!

Falling water is so cool

Before Eli, Franz and I used to enjoy going out every morning and taking a stroll through our garden to see the new growth, throw banana slugs, and get a bit of fresh air. Having Eli puts a different spin on the ritual. We can't just walk around anymore. We have to make sure Eli is:

A) Happy (this means not staying in one place for too long and letting him play in the fountain)

B) Warm (this is hard to do when he wants to play in the fountain)

C) Not eating plants (this is REALLY hard, as we have plants within reach all over our garden, and anything within reach of Eli goes straight into his mouth)

This morning, we failed at C, which lead to a failure of A. Franz set Eli down on our rock pathway, and before we knew it, Eli had a redwood leaf in his mouth, and Franz had to try and get it out of there before he swollowed it. Eli was determined to get that damn thing down his throat, and in the end of a long battle of wills, Eli prevailed. Lets just hope a redwood tree doesn't sprout out of his butt.

In other news, Eli has a little bit of a cold. His nose is runny (not green though!) and he has a cough. I'm hoping that it doesn't progress into something bigger just as the weather clears up because we both really miss going outside.

Trees do not grow that way and he will be fine. At his age everything has to be touched, broken, put in the mouth, and such. Every baby goes through this and Eli is no exception.
