Eli and Great Grandma on Thanksgiving

Eli and Great Grandma

Eli had a wonderful first Thanksgiving. We had our family over our house this year, and Eli (in a close second was football) was the center of attention. He was very well behaved, mainly because for some reason, he slept for most of the day. He would sleep for almost two hours, wake up for about a half an hour, only to go to sleep again for at least another hour. The one day that we want him to be awake so we can show him off, he decides to fake mono. Why couldn't he do this the day before, when we were trying to clean the house?

We dressed him up in a little suit and man, did he go to town with that tie. It's the perfect toy because he can't drop it. We're thinking of having him wear one all the time just so he can entertain himself without having the risk of him losing it.

Though he didn't get to eat any turkey, he did get some squash, which didn't go over too well. He didn't deny it, more than he just put up with it. I'm thinking he's not going to warm up to the green beans, but we'll see.

We have quite a bit to be thankful for this year...a beautiful baby boy whom we love more than we could ever imagine, our loving and supportive friends and family, and we're especially thankful for Franz's safety and health. As a side note, I am also thankful for peppermint bark. If you haven't tried that stuff yet, please do, you won't be disappointed. I promise. And if you are, please send me what you don't eat. I will take it without judgement or question.
