Dill Family Leper Colony

Big Wheel!

Eli and Max are full of snot and are coughing like they've been smoking two packs a day for forty years. Eli gets really upset when he starts coughing, as this cold has introduced him to phlegm, and he doesn't know what to do with it. He coughs and coughs and coughs and stuff comes up, and then he tries to swallow it, but then he coughs again, and he ends up spitting up about a 1/3 cup of phlegm. And that really bums him out. Max isn't that bad yet, but the coughing has made it difficult for him to sleep. He can't take the long naps that he needs during the day, and at night, he's waking up a bunch, so he gets pretty grumpy by the end of the day.

Eli didn't go to school on Tuesday, but we sent him on Thursday because he seemed better. It was a half day in the classroom and the rest of the day was spent at a pumpkin patch. It was a million degrees (which, on the coastside translates to about 75) and all of us got pretty hot, but we still managed to have a good time. I know that the best part of the trip for Eli was playing with his friends from school. He no longer protests going to school, and every morning asks if it is a school day. And should it be a school day, he always makes mention of going to see his friends. I cannot express what a relief that is!
