We trekked over to Portola Redwoods State Park today for another Eli first, his very first trail hike. He did a great job, sleeping most of the time in the wonderful baby Bjorn during our ~3 mile hike.
We stopped for lunch (both us and Eli) in the group picnic area. Eli was absolutely fascinated with the roof. Not sure what he saw in it but he starred intensely at the inner shingles for minutes (that's a long time in baby time).
We crossed paths with another mom in the park; she was mountain biking with her kids. She told Jen, "Good for you!". She was referring to Jen getting out and hiking... because it's obvious Eli is new.
Great day... and we have a Eli first camping trip planned at this very State Park. We can't wait!
